Meeting Report for 8/19/2009

August 20, 2009

In attendance: Jecel Mattos de Assumpção Jr, Ken Causey, Bert Freudenberg, Craig Latta, Randal Schwartz, and Igor Stasenko.  Andreas Raab didn’t make it this time.

We spent a significant amount of the meeting discussing our internal processes and communication.  This group has some complex goals and achieving these goals requires considerable time communicating as a group and developing consensus.  We meet twice a month for about an hour each time.   What can we do to increase our productivity in these meetings?  Can we communicate outside of meetings productively?  Some ideas were bounced around but nothing settled yet.

The rest of the meeting was primarily spent discussing the relicensing process and what if anything can be done to encourage progress.

Our next meeting is scheduled for September 2, 2009.

Meeting Report for 8/5/2009

August 6, 2009

We missed Igor Stasenko this week but every one else was in attendance: Jecel Mattos de Assumpção Jr, Ken Causey, Bert Freudenberg, Craig Latta, Andreas Raab, and Randal Schwartz.

We considered the status of development and how new releases would be created.  It was decided for now to watch how development continues, bring up ideas and concerns on squeak-dev when it seems appropriate, and see what ideas and results emerge.  This topic will be revisited at every meeting.

Attention then turned to the progress on the 4.0 relicensing release.  We are going to make renewed contact with all participating parties and also work on a procedure aimed at completing the remaining necessary rewriting.

Our next meeting will be on August 19th, 2009.
